Advantages and disadvantages of dry transformers and oil immersed transformers

In price, dry becomes more expensive than oil.

In terms of capacity, large volumes of oil become more than dry.

In comprehensive buildings (basement, floor, roof, etc.) and crowded places need to use dry transformer. The oil conversion is carried out in an independent substation.

Box transformer internal transformer generally adopts box transformer. Outdoor temporary electricity is generally used in oil conversion.

Choose dry change and oil change according to space during construction, oil change can be selected when the space is large, and dry change can be selected when the space is crowded.

The regional climate is more humid and hot areas, easy to use oil change. If dry change is used, forced air cooling equipment must be equipped.

1. Appearance

Different packaging forms, dry transformers can directly see the iron core and coil, and oil transformers can only see the shell of the transformer;

2, the lead form is different

Dry transformers mostly use silicone rubber bushing, while oil transformers mostly use porcelain bushing;

3. Different capacity and voltage

Dry transformers are generally suitable for distribution, the capacity is mostly below 1600KVA, the voltage is below 10KV, and there are individual 35KV voltage levels; The oil-type transformer can achieve the full capacity from small to large, and the voltage level can also achieve all voltages; The UHV 1000KV test line under construction in our country must be oil-type transformer.

4, insulation and heat dissipation are not the same

Dry transformers are generally insulated by resin, cooled by natural air, and cooled by a large capacity fan, while oil-type transformers are insulated by insulating oil, and the coil generated by the circulation of insulating oil in the transformer will be dissipated on the radiator (sheet) of the transformer.

5. Applicable places

Dry transformers are mostly used in places that require "fire prevention and explosion-proof", and are generally easy to use in large buildings and high-rise buildings. The oil-type transformer may have oil ejecta or leak after an "accident", causing a fire, which is mostly used outdoors, and there is a place where the "accident oil pool" is dug.

6, the load bearing capacity is different

Generally, dry-type transformers should operate at rated capacity, while oil-type transformers have better overload capacity.
